The New York Time’s Coronavirus obituaries piece is a heartbreaking anthology of some of the lives lost due to complications from coronavirus. The story that struck me as exceptionally heartbreaking is the story of Freddie Brown Jr. and Freddie Brown III, A father and son who died three days apart. My heart breaks for Sandy Brown, the mother and wife whose world was ripped away by this terrible virus. Both father and son were beloved by their Flint, Mich. area communities. Brown III graduated from Grand Blanc High School where he was an athlete and planned on attending Michigan state University in the fall. Young people tend to think that they will not be as affected by the virus, so it is exceptionally shocking to hear of a young, healthy athlete passing away. As someone who is close with his immediate family, I cannot believe what Sandy Brown must be feeling. This is truly an unprecedented time in our country. Cherish your loved ones because no one knows just how much time you get to spend with them.
