Track and field. It’s not glitzy, it’s not glamorous, it doesn’t pay big bucks, but it is the best sport in the world. For my first official post I will attempt to (briefly) explain why one of the worlds oldest sports is still the best. To put it simply, track and field is the purest form of athletic competition. There is no referee bias, missed calls, challenge flags, timeouts or substitutions. Every event– jumps, throws, sprints, or distance—is decided simply by head-to-head battle. It is a measurable contest of strength and speed. Once you become familiar with the many nuances within each individual event a track meet becomes a spectacle of achievements. Through this blog I hope to show you just how awesome the sport can be!
